Steinwandel GmbH chooses EGOCMS 3.2 for customer-oriented Content Management

Steinwandel GmbH with corporate seat in Rottweil is a system house for wood applications. For more than 100 years, Steinwandel has offered its customers a complete, quality-oriented range of woods for any individual requirement. As a specialised trader for carpenters and cabinetmakers, the company has specialised in wholesale trade and is therefore able to fall back on an extensive product range in the end customer business. More than 70 employees take care of optimal solutions all around the subject of wood applications.

After a long selection procedure, Steinwandel decided in favour of EGOTEC. Main criteria for the decision were price, simple handling, convincing online references and the common technical basis.

By the end of the year, the previous static solution is to be replaced by a comfortable, dynamic EGOTEC solution. EGOTEC editor's training for Steinwandel employees will be carried out at an early stage so that the new design of structure and content may be completed in good time. Steinwandel GmbH marketing department is responsible for the creation of the new design. EGOTEC will carry out the conversion to HTML templates and connection to EGOCMS.

Another important item is the integration of the KAPS webshop with a consistent authentification via the Content Management System. So far, the focus has been on the shop system which is already actively used by regular customers. To offer an visually and technically optimal solution it was decided to use a Content Management System. It is intended to provide customers with personalised information via the Internet portal in the form of special offers. Additionally, such information will be provided to the customer base by newsletter.

Particularly regarding the requirements of flexible extensibility and cost efficiency, EGOTEC was able to fully play off its strengths. EGOTEC is based on the widely used script language PHP4 and it is therefore possible to integrate it into this open source environment platform-independent and at favourable cost.
