To utilise the world-wide medium Internet better, a relaunch of the Internet activities is planned shortly. An efficient Web Content Management system is necessary to manage the multilingual websites.

The Kindernothilfe supports around 200,000 children and youths in 1,087 projects in 27 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. The Kindernothilfe supports girls and boys holisticly. This means, that the projects and programmes in foreign countries consider not only school and vocational education but also the children's health and nutrition as well as their families.

So far, a CMS of a well-known manufacturer was utilised. As the cost of upgrade to the new version seemed to be rather expensive it was decided to test alternative CMS solutions. After pre-selection, three candidates remained who were able to best fulfil the requirements in initial tests, among them Jahia, OpenCMS and EGOTEC. These products were then tested for several weeks for the requirements of the Kindernothilfe.

EGOTEC was convincing with its simple handling, flexibility and documentation together with an attractive price/performance ratio, especially regarding future cost. In comparison with the other test candidates as well as with the previously used Content Management System EGOTEC's overall concept was the most persuading.

Step by step, the Kindernothilfe Internet presences will be converted to EGOTEC during the following months. Due to its flexible and modular design, its platform-, operating system and browser-independence, EGOTEC offers companies and organisations optimally integrated solutions.

EGOTEC is delivered completely in PHP source code, extensions may be carried out flexibly via a number of interfaces.
