The Volkssolidaritaet is an independent, non-profit welfare organisation which is independent in terms of political party and confession. It is open to anybody who feels committed to the humanistic understanding of the association's values. With its 400,000 members it is one of the largest welfare organisations in Germany.

Above all, the integration of associations and institutions in a consistent overall image, even on the Internet, is supposed to be the result of the new technology.

The former, heterogenous Internet scenery is supposed to be harmonised by the implementation of EGOTEC. As a challenge of restructuring, the pages of the association (Federal Association, Associations of the Federal States, District Associations) and related non-profit organisations were adapted to the Volkssolidaritaet's corporate design. A universal navigation concept will equalise handling at all levels of the association. Attention was further paid to creation of a new design in which particularly accessibility and legibility where important issues. Above all, older people use the Internet presences to find information on topics regarding old age (supported living, neighbourhood support etc.).

It was crucial in the decision pro EGOTEC that it already covers the possibility of handling multiple domains and all requirements resulting from the complex organisational structure of the Volkssolidaritaet in its standard version. Also regarding performance, EGOCMS 3.5 is optimally suited and has already proven itself in other projects with a dynamic live server and approx. 9 million visits per month.

It is planned that the relaunch of the new pages will be complete by the middle of 2004.
