Rights management
High degree of freedom regarding definition of access rights
Utilising an Enterprise Content Management platform aims to relocate content compilation and maintenance as decentrally as possible into the specialist departments. Each author should have access to exactly the content he is responsible for and at the same time only have access rights to the objects corresponding to his role in the work process. The more far-reaching the ECM platform is utilised within the company, the more flexible access control has to be. This is the only way to portray different solution scenarios and organisational requirements.
Due to a very granular user and rights management EGOTEC creates the necessary degree of freedom that is required for company-wide utilisation of an Enterprise Content Management Solution platform.

Flexible control of who may do what to which content
Each user is allocated a particular workplace. The role/filter combination assigned to each workplace accurately determines what a user may do and to which content it should be done. What is special is that the filters enable a very granular selection of content on the basis of freely definable criteria. Therefore, almost every company scenario is covered. Different to most systems, access cannot only be controlled on the basis of the object type (e.g. press releases) but also on the basis of object content (metadata as well as content, e.g. press releases of the company department A, customer data from M* to O*).
Fast presentation of organisational changes
Users with the same area of responsibility may be grouped by allocation to the same workplace. If an employee changes his position and tasks, only an allocation to the new workplace is necessary. He automatically takes over the relevant rights. Deputy regulations are solved simply by allocation to the same workplace.
Support central user management
To simplify user management and support single sign-on of users, more and more companies prefer a central user directory. EGOTEC enables user data administration and their authentification in an external directory service without problems. Supported by existing interfaces, LDAP-based directory services or the Microsoft Active Directory Service may be integrated without big effort.
