EGOTEC portal integration is the ideal solution for companies using the SAP Netweaver^®  portal and who value a professional Content Management System.

Simple content maintenance and user-specific information provision are the first choice for companies using portals. Not only does the increasing amount of information have to be coped with but also quality, being up-to-date and the form of presentation of all content should be consistent. Until now, a high maintenance and development effort was necessary to present content personalised in the portal if it was previously created and maintained by means of a content management system.

The EGOTEC Content Management System offers practise-proven software for content publication and management. Without additional SAP know-how, information created by SAP^®  Portal Integration can be published seamlessly in the SAP Netweaver^®  portal.

Any texts, images, media data may be created, designed and edited user-friendly in EGOTEC - content including navigation structures, authorisations, languages etc. are automatically taken over into the SAP^®  portal by XML interface.

Operation

The creation and changing of navigation points and content is carried out exclusively via the EGOTEC CMS editing interface. Editors do not require additional SAP^®  knowledge. Installation on the editing clients is not required. The editing interface is completely operated via the existing web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox).

Personalisation

Navigation structure as well as individual articles may be personalised. Users can only access areas they are authorised for or find them in a search.
Therefore, EGOTEC personalisation communicates with SAP NetWeaver^®  user management. Groups and users created in EGOTEC are available to the SAP Netweaver^®  portal. User-specific content will be delivered in iView direct into the SAP Netweaver^®  portal considering the registered Intranet user's profile.

Authorisation concept

User and authorisation profiles already existing may be taken over and synchronised from existing user repositories (e.g. LDAP-based directory services). In EGOTEC CMS, rights of access to navigation structure and articles are determined by groups and user allocation.
