Sustainability & environmental protection
EGOTEC AG itself has been committed to sustainability for a number of years. Internally, great importance is attached to the conscious use of resources and sustainable behaviour.
By expanding the solar system in 2024, EGOTEC AG will be able to generate 70% of its electricity requirements in its office building directly from its own production. The remaining energy is sourced from eco-labelled energy suppliers.
By working almost exclusively digitally, materials and resources are saved.
Employees also receive annual training on the topic of sustainability.

We operate our servers in Hetzner's data centre, which is supplied entirely with green electricity.
Energy efficiency
One of the most important aspects of sustainability at Hetzner is energy efficiency. Hetzner relies on modern technologies to minimise energy consumption in its data centres. This includes, among other things:
- Efficient cooling systems: The use of advanced cooling technologies significantly reduces the energy consumption for cooling the servers. Hetzner uses natural outside air for cooling up to 98% of the year.
- Energy-efficient hardware: Hetzner uses energy-efficient servers and components that consume less electricity and thus reduce the environmental impact.
Our servers use hydropower
Hetzner covers its energy requirements exclusively with renewable energies. The data centres are located in Germany and have been using hydroelectric power since 2008.

DiNa - Digital sustainability in ICT SMEs
EGOTEC AG is a member of BITMi's DiNa network, a ZIM innovation network consisting of companies from the ICT sector, a research institution and three associated partners. Together, the companies want to develop solutions for measuring and reducing the resource consumption of software and hardware systems and validate them in use cases. On the software side, hardware-independent and representative metrics are to be recorded, thus enabling consumption to be recorded at software module or even source code level.
